Who Are We
The Lake Ontario Chapter (LOC) of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is located in PEO‘s East Central Region, and is responsible for the delivery of educational outreach, professional services and the organization of technical and social events for approximately 3100 local Professional Engineers and Engineers-in-Training.
The Lake Ontario Chapter spans the sun-kissed northern shore our Great Lake, from the Eastern border of the Megacity, through Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Bowmanville (indeed, all of Clarington), Port Hope, Cobourg , all the way out to... well, not quite as far as Colbourne, but definitely further east than most big-city people would dare venture...
Through the Professional Engineers Act, Professional Engineers Ontario governs licence and certificate holders and regulates professional engineering in Ontario to serve and protect the public.
Established on June 14, 1922, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is the licensing and regulating body for engineering in the province. It fulfills the same role for engineers as the College of Physicians and Surgeons for doctors or the Law Society of Upper Canada for lawyers.
